My herbal shampoo bars have been so well received, it was time to introduce something new and slightly different – a moisturizing shampoo bar that makes use of the nourishing properties of goat milk and lanolin.
Here is my new shaving soap, scented lightly with Frankincense and citrus essential oils. The Australian black clay and BC Glacial Marine clay add the necessary slip required for shaving and ample castor oil, lanolin, and vegetable shortening lend a very traditional, creamy, stable lather. Goat milk is used instead of water for extra skin conditioning and moisturizing.
I’ve been busy trying new things! If I had to make the same soap all the time I would get bored. I keep the most popular ones, drop ones that were slow sellers and replace them with something new. Goat milk soap connoisseurs will be happy. I now have three varieties of goat milk soap (so creamy and moisturizing), all of them still containing generous amounts of shea and cocoa butter. I have fallen in love with Australian Black Clay, which I’ve combined with BC Glacial Marine clay in a bath and body soap and a new shaving soap. With the black clay, the shaving soap looks something like a hockey puck and is made with the traditional shaving soap ingredients of lanolin and castor oil, and it is yet another of my goat milk soaps.
I’ll be at the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre tomorrow and Saturday (November 16th and 17th) and at the Christmas Farmers’ Markets at the Rec Centre for the three following Saturdays. That willl be your chance to pick up your Christmas gift sets. I have four collections available:
Collection No. 1 Six Bar Sampler is a mix of some of my bestselling soaps. A great choice for a family gift as there is something to please everyone here.
Collection No. 2 Lavender Lover’s has all five of my lavender bars – Lavender Coconut Milk, Lavender Goat’s Milk, Lavender and Rose, Lavender and Rosemary, and Lavender and Eucalyptus. I have yet to meet a scent that doesn’t blend well with lavender.
Collection No. 3 is Man Soap. Many of them are clay soaps which double up nicely as shaving soaps. The black clay soap has a lovely, earthy blend of Pettigrain, Frankincense and Juniper essential oils and the Rhassoul Clay is scented with Lemongrass, Clary Sage, and Frankincense. Add to that a citrusy hand scrub and an invigorating peppermint pumice soap coloured with green clay, both excellent soaps for hardworking hands.
Collection No. 4, Fresh Scents, is a set of four soaps with light, bright, citrus based fragrances.
